🔥 Street Food Magic: Spicy Korean Tteokbokki at Home

Made with soft rice cakes, gochujang (Korean chili paste), and fish cakes in a rich, spicy sauce — this dish is pure comfort.
Follow our easy recipe to bring this iconic Korean snack into your kitchen.

Ingredients

  • 200g Korean rice cakes (tteok)
  • 100g fish cakes, sliced
  • 2 cups water or anchovy broth
  • 2 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp minced garlic
  • Green onions for garnish
  • Boiled egg (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a pan, mix gochujang, sugar, soy sauce, and garlic in the water or broth.
  2. Bring to a boil and add rice cakes and fish cakes.
  3. Simmer for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.
  4. Garnish with green onions and add a boiled egg if desired. Enjoy!
