
Easy Saury Kimchi Stew Recipe

A simple and hearty Korean stew made with canned saury, kimchi, and sesame oil. Perfect for a quick homemade meal.
Ingredients (2–3 servings)
- Dongwon Canned Mackerel Pike (Saury) 400g – 1 can
- Dongwon Yangban Sliced Kimchi 500g – 200 g
- CJ Sesame Oil – 1 tbsp
- Green onion – 1 stalk (sliced)
- Minced garlic – 1 tbsp
- Seasoning mix: red pepper flakes 2 tbsp, soybean paste 1/2 tbsp, sugar 1 tsp
- Water – 2 cups (rice water recommended)
Cooking Steps
- Heat sesame oil in a pot, add garlic and stir-fry until fragrant. Add kimchi and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes.
- Add canned saury (with broth) and seasoning mix. Stir gently to combine.
- Pour in 2 cups of water, adjust seasoning, and simmer for 15 minutes.
- Add green onion, simmer briefly, and serve hot.
Suggested Serving
- Best enjoyed with freshly steamed rice
- Add tofu, mushrooms, or chili for extra flavor
- Great for a quick weekday dinner
