Homemade Chadolbagi Mala Xiang Guo (Stir-Fried Spicy Beef Brisket)
Homemade Chadolbagi Mala Xiang Guo – easy stir-fry recipe with NZ frozen beef brisket, vegetables, and bold mala flavor. Perfect for a quick spicy meal.
📌 Ingredients (2–3 servings)
- Beef Brisket Slices (Chadolbagi) 300g Buy here
- Bean Sprouts 200g
- Onion 1 (sliced)
- Spring Onion 1 stalk (sliced diagonally)
- Garlic 6 cloves (sliced)
- Dried Chili Peppers 5 (optional, adjust for spice)
- Bok Choy 2 heads
- Coriander a handful (optional)
Seasoning
- Mala Sauce 3 tbsp (or Lao Gan Ma + chili oil as substitute)
- Soy Sauce 2 tbsp Buy here
- Oyster Sauce 1 tbsp
- Sugar 1 tsp
- Chili Oil 2 tbsp
- Sesame Seeds a pinch Buy here
🍳 Cooking Instructions

Prepare Ingredients: Slightly thaw the frozen brisket, cut into bite-size pieces. Rinse bean sprouts, chop bok choy into thirds, slice onion and spring onion.

Infuse Oil: Heat chili oil in a wok, add sliced garlic and dried chili, stir over medium-low heat to release aroma.

Cook Brisket: Increase to high heat, add beef brisket, and stir-fry quickly.

Add Vegetables: Toss in onion, bean sprouts, and bok choy. Stir-fry for 2–3 minutes on high heat.

Season: Add mala sauce, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar. Stir-fry until well combined.

Finish: Turn off heat, mix in spring onion and coriander. Plate and sprinkle sesame seeds before serving.
🍴 Tips
- Add tofu, mushrooms, or potato slices for a richer dish.
- Use leftover sauce to fry rice or stir in noodles for a hearty second dish.
