Ingredients (Serves 4)
- 1kg beef short ribs (soak in cold water for 1 hour to remove excess blood)
- 1 cup CHUNG JUNG ONE Korean BBQ Sauce for Beef Galbi (about 200ml)
- 2 cups water (about 400ml)
- 2 potatoes (cut into chunks)
- 1 carrot (thick slices)
- 5–6 shiitake or button mushrooms
- 1 onion (large chunks)
- 1 leek or green onion (sliced diagonally)
- 5 cloves garlic (whole)
- Optional: chestnuts, ginkgo nuts
Instructions
- Soak beef short ribs in cold water for about 1 hour to remove excess blood, then blanch in boiling water to remove impurities.
- In a large pot, add ribs, CHUNG JUNG ONE Galbi Sauce, and water. Simmer on medium-low heat for 30 minutes.
- Add potatoes, carrots, onion, and garlic. Cook for another 20 minutes until vegetables start to soften.
- Add mushrooms and green onions, then simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
- Once the broth thickens and the meat becomes tender, remove from heat and serve. Garnish with chestnuts or ginkgo nuts if desired.
